I'd love to know how you'd rewrite the SI's attack on London. Since it would be fun to see the SI get their asses kicked because they sorely underestimated Mithras and Roger. :)
I haven't really given it much thought beyond "London's Kindred population remains completely in tact", but I love your idea.

The fact that Latin was taught in higher education from about 500 AD to 1950, as a required course, means that there’s a lot of Kindred that must be so confused that the highly educated in modern nights don’t know a lick of Latin. They must think we’re so stupid.
A Tremere embraces a university valedictorian and they launch into an explanation, that’s preprepared, in Latin, and their childe is just 😳. And the sire is like, “I don’t understand. You have a doctorate in electrical engineering, how do you not know Latin?!”
Then again, the elders would be able to freely talk amongst each other without too much fear of neonates understanding them.
#vtm#vampire the masquerade#tremere#I imagine some usurpers might even dominate their potential childer into taking Latin as an elective#hell bluebloods might do that too#especially around a Mithras ran London

[VTM] Fic: Divine Intervention 5/15
Title: Divine Intervention
Fandom: Vampire: The Masquerade (His Dark Materials AU)
Adjacent Sub-Fandoms: London by Night, VTM: Coteries of New York, His Dark Materials
Main Characters: Olivia Martin (Ventrue OFC), Mithras, Roger de Camden
Major Characters: Tiffany de Camden (Ghoul OFC)
Story Summary:
A year and a half after drinking the blood of a powerful vampire, an American SI captive, Olivia, is released into British society to spy on the strongest one of all: Roger de Camden, a chronically depressed necromancer who’s quite ready to go to sleep and never wake up. But his daemon is utterly fascinated with Olivia, and worse still, the delusions she’s had since the diablerie seem to be fixated on the two of them in turn. But as the SI throw their plans away and Olivia finds herself fighting for her life, the delusion that she is Mithras, the ancient god-king of Britain, only seems to grow stronger and stronger. Worse still, there seems to be something other than Mithras living in her head with her…
Chapter Summary: In which Olivia goes mostly ignored by her new havenmates, and Timaeus says a bunch of spooky shit. Also she feels entitled to steal Roger's most prized possession.
Chapter 4 is here!
Snip:
Rowan lay on the ground, slumped to the side as if the daysleep had struck him halfway through drawing the damn thing. There was a strange pointed cap in his arms that looked like it should have disintegrated years ago. "Careful," Timaeus whispered. "He has our blood. He doesn't sleep as deeply as other Cainites."

Valerius deserves a sarcastic “you tried” gold star for his assassination attempt. Blowing up an ammunition depot is a great idea for dealing with powerful Kindred…
Except that he did it to probably the only two in London who it wouldn’t work on: the guy who can (apparently) step into the Shadowlands whenever he wants, and the guy who is notoriously resistant to fire.
Good job Valerius. Well done.

You Cannot Play an Elder Stop Teasing Me With the Possibility
What do you mean??? OLDER???? Page 180 of the Core Rulebook
YOU LITERALLY CANNOT MAKE ANYONE OLDER THAN ANCILLAE PER YOUR CHARACTER CREATION RULES on 137
We'll get to the set time frames of generations in another post I promise.

the other day was talking with my group about the different regions of Chile in the VTM setting, here is some brainstorming
-In the north are kindred who scaped the fall of London, ventrue and tremere are still in bad term because of the cult of Mithras, once in a while a Nictuku from the Amazon rainforest manages to cross the mountains a get to the desert and that's a real problem
-In the central areas you have your classic VTM chronicles, a lot of inmigration through history makes a cool setting with clan variety and sect conflicts, the sabbat was very influential in the past and still is a thing in modern nights
-In rural areas kindred lose a lot of influence, low population density gives not enough sustenance, and the presence of Fera and Mages is a very big threat, still you may find a small town lost to time full of revenant families
-In the south things get wild, cults, sabbat, infernalism maybe, is like the dark ages all again but this time the Lasombra are divided in sabbat and camarilla, so add that to the other simultaneous conflicts
#i have this image in my head of a group of tremere fighting a Nictuku running through the desert and it goes so hard#vampire the masquerade#vtm#vtm homebrew#world of darkness#wod

This might be a stupid question but how does generation and age affect vtm kindred? like if a 3rd gen kindred were embraced yesterday would they automatically be more powerful the a 5th gen who'd been around for 100 years? I tried looking it up and I just got confused...
Well, a 3rd generation Kindred couldn't be Embraced yesterday because the 2nd generation are all dead XD THAT WE KNOW OF. Dum-da-da-dum. So let's make the comparison a newly-Embraced 4th gen, versus a century-old 6th gen.
So first, how are we defining power? Ability to survive a fight? Raw potential? Higher stats? The century-old 6th gen would likely have higher stats (up to level 7) and be better able to survive night by night because they'd have accumulated more exp to spend on stats, disciplines, etc, whereas the newly-embraced 4th gen would have much more powerful potential (up to level 9), but wouldn't have had the time to build up those skills. They wouldn't have been Embraced with the ability to whip out The Last Dracul, y'know? Discipline-wise, they're definitely starting at a lower level, although attributes are a bit fuzzier (the baby methuselah might be able to punch through a steel wall in a panic).
In-universe, the explanation is that vampires get stronger over time, with vitae becoming more potent. Mechanically, this is mostly down to accumulated experience points, which can be spent on disciplines, attributes, et cetera. There'll still always be an upper limit depending on generation; a gen 6 vampire can't learn a level 8 discipline no matter what.
Where the fledgling 4th gen would beat the ancilla 6th gen is in the raw potential and power of their blood. A fledgling 4th gen would actually be in a ridiculous amount of danger, because their blood would be incredibly potent. They'd be diablerie-bait for anyone looking for a quick power-up. Just to demonstrate how potent methuselah blood is, Monty Coven (originally 11th gen) diablerised 4th gen Mithras and rocketed all the way down to 6th gen (albeit with Mithras' spirit surviving and able to take over again, with Roger's ritual restoring him to 4th gen power). Dropping five generations in one go! And a fledgling, who's presumably still trying to work out how to navigate the night? Oh man, they'd be potential Forbidden Snackies for everyone, while also likely needing very potent blood of their own (both older vampires and lower-gen vampires need more powerful blood; many methuselah have to resort to regular diablerie because drinking human blood just doesn't cut it any more).
So, tl;dr, a newly-Embraced 4th gen would have far more raw power and potential than an older vampire of the 6th gen, but the 6th gen would have had more time to actually learn their disciplines and accumulate abilities and skills, and also would probably want to eat the 4th gen for their ridiculously potent blood.

For Roshan: How does your religion view their connection with your god? Like does your belief system involve your god giving signs, or communicating somewhat regularly? Maybe less tangible things? Or is it a sort of "they can't or don't interfere" sort of thing? Not quite sure how to word this question I just really enjoy hearing different experiences as to how people view their connection with their gods and I'd love to hear yours.
>< Hmm. Well - I think the degree is probably a subject of debate, but I do think of Mithras as a god that can be communicated with and send signs (hell, I've asked for and received a sign even since arriving here, which was more than I was honestly expecting).
There's this kind of weird dynamic where Mithras is objectively a god that has turned away from vampirekind, cursed us even, and yet... he must still be watching us to some degree, because of that. And, after all, Mithraics have the Discipline of Helios as his gift to us, which allows us to partially shrug off his sun-curse, which means we must still have some favor from him. Maybe that's just a holdover from the version of the story where we were the only ones of his childer who remained loyal, instead of being the ones who returned after turning away, but I don't think so.
(For any VtM players in the background wondering what the hell I'm talking about when it comes to Helios, it's not a Discipline that appears in VtM canon; in the fictional sense, it was originally homebrewed at our table for the VtM canon Mithras (a Ventrue methuselah).)
Anyway. Got distracted waxing philosophical there, sorry. But yeah, Mithras absolutely does grant signs and sometimes even powers - even outside of Helios, there's magic associated with certain religious rites that is very, very real. (The skeptical would probably say it's "just" blood sorcery. The skeptical Mithraic would probably respond that the fact that this power is in the blood to be unlocked in the first place is itself the gift from Mithras. Etc. etc. You can get real deep in the weeds with this stuff.)
Hopefully that answers the question?

i keep seeing you tag things for lauralene please tell me more about her 👀👀
Detailed character info under the cut, in cast that's not your thing so sorryyyy
You have no idea how giddy seeing this question made me oh my god! I had to bust out the laptop to type this one all out lmao
Yes of course! Lauralene Lark is my VTM vampire OC who I currently play in a Victorian London campaign setting with some of my best friends.
Lauralene is truly one of my favorite characters ever, and I've put her smack dab in arguably the best/worst setting for a girl like her.
She's my southern siren. A southern belle from the states who was turned in France around the late 1700's, while in her early 20's, the prime of her life. She was accompanying her brother on business matters but secretly was always trying to elbow her way into the spotlight. There she met her sire, and was turned. She is from the Daughters of Cacophony bloodline, which means she can drive people to insanity or into submission with her voice, and baby girl is maxed out on charisma, manipulation, and performance.
While she is known for her voice, she is primarily a rising star as an actress on the stage in London. She was deeply maddeningly sickeningly in love with her lesbian sire whose whims she followed for the better part of a century, before ultimately being abandoned by her for reasons still unclear. The breakup is still a wound she carries, but she's gone through enough lately that she is in the anger stage about being abandoned, and is striving for personal success as a fuck you to her sire. She's petty as fuck when she wants to be, which is often.
She recently had her career take off and her personal life become absolutely destroyed by recent campaign events which I will not bore you with lol. Also worth mentioning: in our game Lauralene is the real life inspiration for Christine Daae from Phantom of the Opera. Her domain is the Royal Opera House, and her toxic jealous ex (the man who almost turned her, but who was not quick enough) is the basically her Phantom, & is working to reveal vampire existence to all of London & the world. He is obsessed with turning her to his side, which is currently very tempting and very dangerous. He is on the side of the enemy, known as The Sabbat, and Lauralene is tentatively gaining status as a member of the vampire Camarilla. And to associate with him would mean insta-death.
Additional fun tidbits:
- She has made a deal with a demon, which has made her an enemy of someone very important to a person in power
- She is helping drive asylum patients to madness for a scientific study
- She's very good at driving other vampires into a blood frenzy, albeit unintentionally 🤪 Very girl slay of her if you ask me but I'm biased.
- Prince Mithras of London wants to kill and eat her annoying ass. Not in the sexy way 😩
God there's honestly so much more about her since I've been playing her since March of last year, but she is my Lady Lazarus, my Persephone self-insert, and my own romantic embodiment of the lure of death.
I have a pinterest board for her as well and a spotify playlist because I can't casually engage with anything I enjoy I have to be weird about it always 🤦♀️❤️
#thank you so much for asking i love talking about her ❤️#my vampire girl doomed by the narrative#lauralene was born to be a 1980s popstar but absolutely will not survive long enough to see it lmao#oc: lauralene#vtm

Alexander, whose brood are known for passion, oratory resonance, and skills in convincing even the clenched fists of nobles and bishops to give up coin and deeds to territory. Alexander’s childer and grandchilder also possess a reputation for loose tempers and fits of frenzy.
Antonius, whose descendants are known for a predisposition towards tactical thinking and administration, and in modern nights are part of churches and cults that seek to reclaim the Constantinople Dream, ushering in a new age of prosperity and cooperation.
Arakur, whose brood have achieved fame based on displays of immense personal power, oftentimes cruel or inhumane, and are tragically prone to bad decisions, reputed to include diablerie, communion with devils, and hubris.
Mithras, whose line exemplifies pride and power, displaying unassailability both in the court and on the battlefield, as well as being allegedly impervious to flame, characteristics interwoven into the beliefs and practices of the Mithraic mysteries and cult.
Nefer-meri-Isis, whose descendants exhibit acute awareness, with a reputation for self-sufficiency, and a resistance to obeying orders.
Artemis Orthia, whose line are known for destroying their enemies through force of arms, building great warrior herds and fanatically loyal armies, and for seizing the glory they believe they are due through violent power.
Tinia, whose descendants have a passion for discovery, seeking new knowledge and powers to continuously expand their domains, at times with dire consequences.
Unknown/noncanon, You think you’re special, don’t you? Well, why don’t you share with the rest of the board what your concept is so we can all have a little inspiration, as a treat :)
#vtm#vampire the masquerade#poll#I know Mithras is popular#but there are 6 other canon candidates#kinda feels a bit like the bachelor#or do you pull a wild card and it’s an unknown methuselah?

9 Images that Capture your VTM OC's Vibe: Daniel "Peanut" Jenkins Childe of Owen Wilson, medic of the Mad Bulls Motorcycle Club, Nymphus in the Cult of Mithras in New England
daniel is For Sure my favourite npc that we've made for our chronicle, so i can't believe it has taken me this long to mention him, holy fuck... check out his backstory beneath the cut!
Daniel grew up in a middle-class household in Boston in the 1890s, the son of druggist and baptist deacon George Jenkins. a bright and curious youth, Daniel's parents supported his interest in medicine; his charm, wit, and success in academic endeavors made him the family's golden child, and the hero of his younger brother Leon. the family's hopes were dashed, however, when Owen forcibly embraced and tortured Daniel in 1909, as an act of spiteful aggression against his ancestor, the Ventrue Cezar Jenkins. Daniel's memories of this time are foggy and jumbled from the trauma, and repeated blood-bondings to Owen have brainwashed him to love his sire and seek his approbation. his nickname, "Peanut", further served to sever the tie between him and his mortal family.
Daniel often hallucinates his mother, father, and brother, which is a source of confusion and frustration for him. he also has a tendency to regress when under strain, and fears going to hell-- or worse, being in hell already. despite his role as "team medic" and one of Owen's Hounds, he is frequently the target of abuse by the other bikers. he enjoys watching boxing on television and reading the bible or medical texts, and can often be found upstairs in the clubhouse cooking meth all night for the Mad Bulls' mortal members to sell. like Owen, he wants to return to Boston to stay.
my two most major influences for Daniel are Paul de Pointe du Lac (IWTV 2022) and Chromakopia by Tyler the Creator (specifically "St. Chroma," "Noid" and the first verse of "Take Your Mask Off").
#oc: daniel “peanut” jenkins#vtm#vtm oc#malkavian#you may be wondering “frankie do you have any non-malk vtm OCs?” and the answer is no :)#this is partially because our chronicle is set in quentin king's boston where the lunatics are running the asylum as they say#and partially because i fucking adore malkavians!!!

SO.
I AM KINDA SORTA IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A RELATIONSHIP MAP FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS.
and good gods, if this isn't a perfect representation of how convoluted all my thoughts are, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WOULD BE, TBH.
This was me while "digitally pinning all the stuff to the board"
But in all seriousness, I am kinda sorta in the process of making a relationship map for all the characters of my "London By Night" Chronicles, and omg I didn't realize how intricated this all thing would turn out to be.
I certainly didn't expect Jacob to be the baby of the whole bunch, and yet here we are.
And then, you have Haytham, that would love to become part of Geriatric Town, but cannot because he doesn't meet the Generation threshold (tbh, not even the proper age, but we all know that Haytham is a Methuselah at heart, if not on the paper lololol).
The only thing that I kinda wish is for this to showcase also the Clan each character belongs to, because it was incredibly fun choosing the ones for the AC character!
Now I need to start adding some characters from the VtM lore and a few more OCs (Artemis, I am looking at you), and definitely I need to add more characters to Jacob's Baronry.
I was so tempted to actually put a picture of Nandor for Mithras (it fits. Yes, I am totally not thirsting for Nandor and looking for an excuse to use him in one way or another) but in the end I resorted to use his "official" portrait from the V5 corebook.
well, time to go back and brainstorm a tad more before going to sleep (gods I am still so freaking tired).
Toodaloo!
